Privacy notice
Short version: we do not track you.
This site has no user accounts, no comments, no advertising, no analytics and no social media buttons, and it does not load anything from other companies’ servers. We do not set cookies.
Who we are
Metaverse Atlas is an independent online magazine run by a small editorial team based in Riga, Latvia. For any privacy question, write to us at the address on our contact page.
What the web server records
Like almost every website, our web server keeps a technical access log. For each request it records the IP address, the date and time, the requested page, the response status, the referring page if your browser sends one, and your browser’s user-agent string. We use these logs only to keep the site secure and working — for example, to diagnose errors or block abusive traffic. Logs are deleted automatically after 14 days. We do not combine them with other data and we do not use them to build profiles.
Cookies and similar technologies
We do not set cookies, and the site does not use local storage, fingerprinting or any similar technique. There are no scripts on our pages.
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to read and answer your message, and we keep correspondence only as long as needed for that purpose — usually no longer than two years. We never sell or share it, and we will never add you to a mailing list.
Legal basis
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f)), and correspondence on the basis of our legitimate interest in replying to you.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in Latvia this is the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija).
Hosting
The site is hosted on a server located in the European Union. Serving these pages does not involve transferring your data outside the EU.
Changes
If this notice changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
